Quilting Bee
On Wednesday, August 24, Zion hosted an area quilting bee. The purpose was to work on quilts for the Oregon Mennonite Festival for World Relief to be held at the Lane County Fairgrounds in Albany on October 8. Coming from Albany, Dallas, Salem, McMinnville, Portland, Canby, Woodburn and Hubbard were almost 40 women. Shirley Martin made us a delicious lunch of taco salad, garlic bread, red beet eggs and dessert. Lots of progress was made on the quilts and also six small comforters were knotted. A good time was had by all. |
