Pack a Sack is a cooperative program between the Greenbriar apartment complex, Pacific Covenant Mennonite Church and Zion Mennonite Church. The mission is to build relationships, share resources and foster community.
The program started as a sack lunch distribution on Saturdays for children that receive school lunches on weekdays. The lunches have continued for eight years and the program has expanded to include summer barbeques and potlucks, school backpack distribution, Christmas trees and a garden. Pack a sack hopes to gain nonprofit status soon.
